Hanuman’s Deliberation on How to Address Sita
इक्ष्वाकूणां वरिष्ठस्य रामस्य विदितात्मनः।।5.30.42।।शुभानि धर्मयुक्तानि वचनानि समर्पयन्।श्रावयिष्यामि सर्वाणि मधुरां प्रब्रुवन् गिरम्।।5.30.43।।श्रद्धास्यति यथाहीयं तथा सर्वं समादधे।
yuktaṃ tasyāprameyasya sarvasattvadayāvataḥ |
samāśvāsayituṃ bhāryāṃ patidarśanakāṅkṣiṇīm ||
അളവറ്റ വീര്യവും സർവ്വജീവികളോടും കരുണയും ഉള്ള അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ—ഭർത്താവിനെ കാണാൻ ആകാംക്ഷയുള്ള അവളെ—ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് യുക്തമാണ്.
"I shall present in auspicious words the esteemed Rama of Ikshvaku family who is a knower of self and make her listen to everything in such a sweet manner that she will trust me.
Dharma is expressed as compassionate duty: offering reassurance to the suffering is a righteous act aligned with Rāma’s character and purpose.
Hanumān prepares to approach Sītā emotionally and ethically, choosing consolation as the correct first step.
