षोडशः सर्गः (Sarga 16): Hanumān’s Recognition of Sītā and Renewed Lament
यदि रामः समुद्रान्तां मेदिनीं परिवर्तयेत्।अस्याः कृते जगच्चापि युक्तमित्येव मे मतिः।।5.16.13।।
yadi rāmaḥ samudrāntāṃ medinīṃ parivartayet |
asyāḥ kṛte jagac cāpi yuktam ity eva me matiḥ ||5.16.13||
ശ്രീരാമൻ അവൾക്കായി സമുദ്രപര്യന്തമായ ഭൂമിയെ—അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സമസ്ത ലോകത്തെയും—മറിച്ചിടുകയാണെങ്കിലും, അത് യുക്തമാണെന്നുതന്നെ എന്റെ മതി.
"Even if Rama turns this land stretching to the ocean upside down or even the entire world on account of her, it is justifiable, according to me.
Dharma as protection of the wronged: the verse argues that immense action is morally warranted when it serves justice—recovering Sītā and punishing adharma.
Hanumān weighs the scale of Rāma’s rightful response to Sītā’s abduction, affirming that even extreme measures would be ethically consistent.
