Rama and Lakshmana at Sabari’s Hermitage

With matted locks, tattered bark clothes and deer skin, Sabari consigned her old and emaciated body to the fire at that moment, with the permission of Rama and ascended to heaven, her body glowing like fire.
Dharma is shown through respectful approach to a spiritual elder and the recognition of the āśrama as a place ordered by restraint, purity, and right conduct.
Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa enter the tree-surrounded hermitage and proceed to meet Śabarī.
Courtesy and reverence—approaching the ascetic with due regard rather than with haste or pride.
