eva yaḥ kurute vipra pāpamocanikāvratām | sa yāti vaiṣṇavaṃ lokaṃ vimānena tu bhāsvatā || 82 ||
Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada)
Vrata: Pāpamocanikā-vratā
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
The verse declares the fruit (phala) of the Pāpamocanikā Vrata: it removes sinful karma and culminates in attainment of the Vaiṣṇava realm, indicating liberation-oriented merit rooted in devotion to Viṣṇu.
By linking a specific Vaiṣṇava vrata with reaching “Vaiṣṇava-loka,” the text frames disciplined observance as an act of devotion whose highest outcome is nearness to Viṣṇu, not merely worldly reward.
It highlights kalpa/ritual discipline in practice: the structured undertaking of a vrata and its stated phala, a key feature of Dharma-śāstra and Purāṇic ritual instruction (even if no specific Vedāṅga like Jyotiṣa is named in this verse).
