Suta (narrating an anukramanika-style summary of topics taught in the Narada Purana, within the broader Narada–Sanatkumara teaching frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It functions as a topic-index (anukramaṇikā), highlighting that the Purana teaches dharmic rites (like vṛṣotsarga), strict avoidance of forbidden conduct, remedial rituals for apamṛtyu, and the doctrine of karmic fruition (vipāka).
Indirectly: by emphasizing dharma, śāstra-guided conduct, and karmic accountability, it supports the ethical and ritual foundation that traditionally accompanies Vishnu-bhakti and a disciplined devotional life.
Ritual-practice knowledge is foregrounded—especially correct performance of prescribed kriyās and avoidance of niṣiddha-karmas (a dharma-śāstra/prayāścitta orientation rather than a specific single Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa).
