तच्छ्रुत्वा नाम पुत्रस्य कृतं मात्रा महीपतिः ।

अलर्क इत्यसंबद्धं प्रहस्येदमथाब्रवीत् ॥

മാതാവ് നൽകിയ പുത്രനാമം കേട്ട രാജാവ് ‘അലർക്ക’ എന്നത് അസംബന്ധം/വിചിത്രം എന്നു കരുതി ചിരിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു।
