व्यथितो5स्मि महायुद्धे भयं चागान्महन्मम वे अस्त्रोंके ज्ञाता तथा युद्धकुशल थे, उनकी संख्या भी बहुत थी। उस महान संग्राममें उन दानवोंसे पीड़ित होनेपर मेरे मनमें महान् भय समा गया
Arjuna uvāca — vyathito ’smi mahāyuddhe bhayaṃ cāgān mahān mama.
അർജുനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഈ മഹായുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഞാൻ വ്യഥിതനാണ്; എനിക്ക് മഹാഭയം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ അസ്ത്രവിദ്യയിൽ പ്രാവീണ്യമുള്ളവരും യുദ്ധകുശലരുമായിരുന്നു; എണ്ണത്തിലും അവർ അനേകർ. ആ മഹാസംഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ആ ഭീകര ശത്രുക്കൾ എന്നെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ എന്റെ മനസ്സ് മഹാഭയത്തോടെ നിറഞ്ഞു.
