अविमुक्तक्षेत्रमाहात्म्य — काशी-वाराणसी में मोक्ष, लिङ्ग-तीर्थ-मानचित्र, और उपासना-विधि
अविशब्देन पापस्तु वेदोक्तः कथ्यते द्विजैः तेन मुक्तं मया जुष्टम् अविमुक्तम् अत उच्यते
aviśabdena pāpastu vedoktaḥ kathyate dvijaiḥ tena muktaṃ mayā juṣṭam avimuktam ata ucyate
വേദവചനപ്രകാരം ദ്വിജർ പറയുന്നു: ‘അവി’ എന്ന പദം പാപത്തെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ പ്രീതിപൂർവ്വം വസിക്കുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥലം ‘അവി (പാപം) മുതൽ വിമുക്തം’; അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇത് ‘അവിമുക്തം’ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്.

It identifies Avimukta (Kāśī) as Śiva’s specially “inhabited” liberating field, where papa (avi) is removed—supporting the Shaiva view that proximity to Pati and His kṣetra accelerates purification and readiness for mokṣa.
Śiva is presented as Pati who is never separated from His devotees and His sacred domain; His presence itself negates bondage-conditions like papa, indicating His grace (anugraha) as the decisive liberating power.
Kṣetra-sevā—living in/visiting Avimukta with Śiva-smaraṇa, japa, and Liṅga-pūjā—aimed at papa-kṣaya (sin-dissolution) and the loosening of pāśa (bondage) for the pashu (soul).
