Adhyaya 70: आदिसर्गः—महत्-अहङ्कार-तन्मात्रा-भूतसृष्टिः, ब्रह्माण्डावरणम्, प्रजासर्गः, त्रिमूर्ति-शैवाधिष्ठानम्
अण्डाज्जज्ञे स एवेशः पुरुषो ऽर्कसमप्रभः तस्मिन्कार्यस्य करणं संसिद्धं स्वेच्छयैव तु
aṇḍājjajñe sa eveśaḥ puruṣo 'rkasamaprabhaḥ tasminkāryasya karaṇaṃ saṃsiddhaṃ svecchayaiva tu
ആ ബ്രഹ്മാണ്ഡാണ്ഡത്തിൽ നിന്നുതന്നെ ആ ഈശൻ—സൂര്യസമപ്രഭനായ പുരുഷൻ—ജനിച്ചു; അവനിൽ സകല പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും സിദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ശക്തി സ്വഇച്ഛയാൽ തന്നെ പൂർണ്ണമായി സിദ്ധമായിരുന്നു।

It establishes Shiva (Īśa) as the self-sufficient Pati whose power is already perfected; Linga worship centers on this supreme, independent Lord as the source and support of all cosmic activity.
Shiva-tattva is portrayed as svatantra (free and sovereign): even when manifesting as the Cosmic Person, His capacity to produce effects is innate and complete, not dependent on any external aid—this marks Him as Pati over all pashus.
The verse highlights inner recognition (jñāna) central to Pashupata orientation: meditate on Shiva as the independent doer whose will alone accomplishes all—supporting devotional Linga-puja with contemplation of His svātantrya.
