गौर॑मीमेद॒भि व॒त्सं मि॒षन्तं॑ मू॒र्धानं॒ हिङ्ङ॑कृणो॒न्मात॒वा उ॑ । सृक्वा॑णं घ॒र्मम॒भि वा॑वशा॒ना मिमा॑ति मा॒युं पय॑ते॒ पयो॑भिः

gáur amīmet abhí vatsáṃ míṣantaṃ mūrdhā́naṃ híṅ akṛṇon mātávā́ u | sṛ́kvāṇaṃ gharmám abhí vāvashānā́ mimā́ti māyúṃ páyate páyobhiḥ

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

The Cow lowed over the calf that stirred; with the hiṅ-cry she made (as it were) a motherly head. Licking him, yearning toward the warmth, she metes out the cry, and with her milks she gives him to drink.

Translation

കുലുങ്ങുന്ന കിടാവിന്മേൽ പശു മുഴങ്ങി; ‘ഹിങ്’ എന്ന വിളിയാൽ അവൾ മാതൃത്വമുള്ള ശിരസ്സിനെ (മൂർധാനം) എന്നപോലെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി. അവനെ നക്കി, ചൂടിനോടു ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ, അവൾ തന്റെ മുഴക്കം അളന്നുപോലെ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ പാലുകളാൽ അവന് കുടിക്കുവാൻ പാൽ പകരുന്നു।
