लोहितेन स्वधितिना मिथुनं कर्णयोः कृधि । अकर्तामश्विना लक्ष्म तदस्तु प्रजया बहु

IAST Transliteration

lóhitena svádhitinā mithunáṃ kárṇayoh kr̥dhí | ákartām aśvínā lákṣma tád astu prajáyā bahú ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

With the red-hued axe make thou a paired mark upon the ears. Let the Aśvins fashion the sign: so be it—abundant in progeny.

Translation

ചുവന്ന വർണ്ണമുള്ള സ്വധിതി (കുറുവാൾ/കത്തി) കൊണ്ട് ചെവികളിൽ ജോടിയായ അടയാളം വരയ്ക്കുക. അശ്വിനികൾ ആ ലക്ഷ്മ (ലക്ഷണം) നിർമ്മിക്കട്ടെ; അങ്ങനെ തന്നെയാകട്ടെ—സന്തതിയിൽ ധാരാളം സമൃദ്ധിയോടെ.
