अनु प्रत्नस्यौकसः प्रियमेधास एषाम्। पूर्वामनु प्रयतिं वृक्तबर्हिषो हितप्रयस आशत

IAST Transliteration

ánu pratnásyaukásaḥ priyámédhāsa eṣām | pū́rvām ánu práyatiṃ vṛ́ktabarhiṣo hitáprayasa āśata

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Following the ancient seat, these dear-offerers—having strewn the grass and set the oblations—attained, in accordance with the former course, the appointed rite’s successful end.

പ്രാചീന ആസനം (ഔകസ്) അനുഗമിച്ച്, ഈ പ്രിയ-മേധാസർ—ബർഹിസ് (യജ്ഞഘാസം) വിരിച്ച്, ഹവിഷ് അർപ്പണത്തിനുള്ള ക്രമം സ്ഥാപിച്ച്—മുൻപത്തെ പാതപ്രകാരം നിശ്ചിത യതി (വിധി-ക്രമം)യുടെ വിജയാന്ത്യത്തിലേക്ക് എത്തി.
