Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Mantra","secondary_vidya":"Tantra","practical_application":"Homa with mantra-sūtra nyāsa: install the relevant tattva at the terminal segment of the ritual sūtra, worship it, then perform exactly three āhutis with the fire properly established (pāvaka-sānnidhya).","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Sūtra-ante tattva-nyāsa and tri-āhuti homa","lookup_keywords":["tattva-nyāsa","sūtra-anta","tri-āhuti","homa","pāvaka"],"quick_summary":"Place and worship the designated principle at the end of the ritual formula/thread, then complete a three-oblation offering with fire duly present—linking nyāsa (placement) to homa (offering) in one sequence."}
Concept: Right sequencing (pūrvāṅga → nyāsa/pūjā → homa) and minimal fixed counts (three āhutis) are presented as a stable ritual grammar.
Application: Before offering, ensure the ‘principle’ is ritually seated (nyasta) and honored; then offer in a small, exact series (three) to seal the act without diffusion.
Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Homa & Mantra-sutra Nyasa)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A practitioner places a symbolic tattva at the end of a ritual thread/formula (shown as a cord or written sūtra strip), performs a brief worship, then offers three measured ladlefuls into a consecrated fire.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, homa-kuṇḍa with three distinct flame bursts marking three āhutis, priest holding a cord/sūtra strip, simple altar objects, strong outlines, warm palette, calm procedural clarity.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore, gold accents on fire and vessels, the sūtra rendered as an ornate ribbon with script, three golden drops of ghee mid-air, rich decorative frame, devotional solemnity.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, step-by-step instructional scene: (1) nyāsa at sūtra end, (2) pūjā gesture, (3) three āhutis shown as three sequential vignettes, fine lines and soft colors.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, three-panel narrative within one page: placing the sūtra, worship, then three offerings into fire; detailed utensils and textiles, subtle smoke, precise composition."}
Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"contemplative","suggested_raga":"Kalyani","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}
Sandhi Resolution Notes: yattattvabhāgānte → yat tattva-bhāga-ante; vinyasyapūjayet → vinyasya pūjayet; juhuyādāhutīstisraḥ → juhuyāt āhutīḥ tisraḥ.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 83 (homa-vidhi and mantra-sūtra nyāsa)
It teaches a precise homa sequence: perform tattva-nyāsa on the specified sūtra segment, worship it, and then complete the rite by offering three āhutis into the established sacred fire.
It preserves procedural liturgy—step-by-step worship and fire-offering technique—showing the Agni Purana’s role as a practical ritual handbook alongside its many other disciplines.
Correct nyāsa and the triad of oblations sanctify the rite, stabilize the deity’s presence in the ritual space, and are intended to yield purification and merit through properly performed fire-worship.
