Diti
Scene: Diti, solemn and intense, addresses the lord of gods with folded hands yet fierce resolve; a divine court setting with Indra-like regalia implied; shadow of impending conflict between devas and asuras.
Desire-driven boons aimed at harming others reflect adharma and set the stage for karmic consequence and divine reordering.
The verse is part of the Adhyāya 22 tīrtha-māhātmya narration, using mythic history to explain the tīrtha’s sanctity.
No direct ritual is prescribed here; it introduces a boon-request narrative involving Śiva.
