FAQs

It introduces the doctrinal logic behind tīrtha-holiness: not all places function equally for spiritual merit, just as some bodily organs/regions are considered vital; the chapter is about explaining that hierarchy of sacred geography.

Indirectly: it prepares the listener to understand why certain tīrthas are especially conducive to devotion—places where remembrance, worship, and purifying practices intensify—supporting sustained bhakti through sacred environment and prescribed observances.

It points to dharma-śāstric and tīrtha-nirṇaya style reasoning (classification and hierarchy of holy sites used in ritual planning), rather than a specific Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa; the practical takeaway is that pilgrimage and rites are to be prioritized according to scriptural gradation.
