Dharma does not merely defend; it actively restrains and neutralizes destructive forces. The imagery of ‘foot’ and ‘spear’ conveys both control and discernment.
Upākhyāna within the Purāṇa; it supports dharma (normative order) rather than enumerating creation or dynasties.
The foot signifies grounding and lordship (adhiṣṭhāna); the spear signifies penetrating wisdom that strikes at the ‘throat’—the locus of expression—silencing falsehood and arrogance.
