दक्षकोपाच्छरीरं तु संत्यज्य परमा कला । हिमवंतगृहे जाता उमानाम्ना च विश्रुता

dakṣakopāccharīraṃ tu saṃtyajya paramā kalā | himavaṃtagṛhe jātā umānāmnā ca viśrutā

ದಕ್ಷನ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಆ ಪರಮಕಲೆ ತನ್ನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದಳು; ನಂತರ ಹಿಮವಂತನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನ್ಮ ಪಡೆದು ‘ಉಮಾ’ ಎಂಬ ನಾಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಳಾದಳು.
