एवमुक्त्वाऽथ तं विष्णुर्नारदं मुनिपुंगवम् । ततश्च गरुडं प्राह त्वं किमर्थमिहागतः
evamuktvā'tha taṃ viṣṇurnāradaṃ munipuṃgavam | tataśca garuḍaṃ prāha tvaṃ kimarthamihāgataḥ
ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಮುನಿಪುಂಗವ ನಾರದನನ್ನು ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸಿ, ನಂತರ ಗರುಡನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು: ‘ನೀನು ಯಾವ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದೆ?’
