सूत उवाच । एवं तत्र पुरे तेन भूभुजा सुमहात्मना । अष्टषष्टिं च संस्थाप्य गोत्राणां निर्वृतिः कृता
sūta uvāca | evaṃ tatra pure tena bhūbhujā sumahātmanā | aṣṭaṣaṣṭiṃ ca saṃsthāpya gotrāṇāṃ nirvṛtiḥ kṛtā
ಸೂತನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಸుమಹಾತ್ಮನಾದ ಭೂಪತಿ ವಿಧಿವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಅಷ್ಟಷಷ್ಟಿ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ದ್ವಿಜಕುಲಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನು।
