| īśvara uvāca | etatte sarvamākhyātaṃ yatpṛṣṭo'smi varānane | sarveṣāmeva tīrthānāṃ sāraṃ tīrthasamuccayam
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Tīrtha-samuccaya (compendium principle) within Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra māhātmya
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pārvatī (varānanā)
Scene: Śiva addressing Pārvatī in a calm teaching posture, with a symbolic ‘garland’ or scroll representing the collected tīrthas; the background shows faint silhouettes of many shrines merging into one luminous center.
Sacred places are not merely locations but a dharmic ‘essence’ to be understood as a unified spiritual map leading toward purification and liberation.
No single tīrtha is named yet; the verse introduces a compendium summarizing the significance of many tīrthas.
None directly; it serves as an introduction to the forthcoming tīrtha-names and their devotional remembrance.
