कूर्म उवाच । श्रृणु भूप कथां दिव्यां श्रवणात्पापनाशिनीम् । कथां सुमधुरामेतां शिवमाहात्म्यसंयुताम्
kūrma uvāca | śrṛṇu bhūpa kathāṃ divyāṃ śravaṇātpāpanāśinīm | kathāṃ sumadhurāmetāṃ śivamāhātmyasaṃyutām
ಕೂರ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹೇ ರಾಜನೇ, ಈ ದಿವ್ಯ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳು; ಇದರ ಶ್ರವಣಮಾತ್ರದಿಂದ ಪಾಪಗಳು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಧುರವಾದುದು, ಶಿವಮಾಹಾತ್ಮ್ಯದಿಂದ ಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ।
