दर्शाष्टकासु भूतायां श्राद्धिकं प्रतिगृह्य च । प्रतिपद्यपि पूर्णायां गजोष्ट्राभ्यां कृतांतरे

Transliteration

darśāṣṭakāsu bhūtāyāṃ śrāddhikaṃ pratigṛhya ca | pratipadyapi pūrṇāyāṃ gajoṣṭrābhyāṃ kṛtāṃtare

Translation

ದರ್ಶಾ ಮತ್ತು ಅಷ್ಟಕಾ ತಿಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಭೂತಾ (ಅಶುಭ) ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧದ ದಾನವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ನಂತರದ ಪ್ರತಿಪದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ—ಆನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಯವಾದರೆ—ಅದು ಅನಧ್ಯಾಯಕಾಲ; ವೇದಾಧ್ಯಯನವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು.
