हिरण्यनेत्रस्य तपः — Hiraṇyanetra’s Austerity and the Boon
अत्यन्तदीर्घं खलु जीवितं तु भवादृशास्सत्पुरुषास्त्यजंतु । एतद्वचस्सानुनयं निशम्य पितामहात्प्राह पुनस्तस्य दैत्यः
atyantadīrghaṃ khalu jīvitaṃ tu bhavādṛśāssatpuruṣāstyajaṃtu | etadvacassānunayaṃ niśamya pitāmahātprāha punastasya daityaḥ
“ಜೀವನವು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದೀರ್ಘ; ನಿಮ್ಮಂತಹ ಸತ್ಪುರುಷರು ಅದನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಲಿ.” ಎಂದು ಮನವಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆ ದೈತ್ಯನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಪಿತಾಮಹ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ)ನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದನು.
