Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana account to the sages, describing the scene before Lord Shiva)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights reverent fear (bhaya mixed with devotion) transforming into surrender: after reflecting together, the devotees speak before Śiva, showing that guidance is approached with humility and collective discernment.
The verse depicts direct engagement with Saguna Śiva (Śambhu) as the accessible Lord who instructs and receives responses; such personal presence is the devotional basis behind Linga-worship—approaching the Lord with awe, then offering one’s words and intent.
A practical takeaway is to hear scripture or the guru’s Śaiva instruction (śravaṇa), reflect together or inwardly (manana), and then respond through prayerful confession and petition—ideally while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
