त्वामेव शरणं प्राप्ता पितुर्वचनगौरवात् । तद्भवान्प्रणताया मे गंगामाहात्म्यंसंयुतम् । देवताराधनं ब्रूहि यच्छ्रुत्वा मुच्यते ह्यघात् ॥ ५ ॥
tvāmeva śaraṇaṃ prāptā piturvacanagauravāt | tadbhavānpraṇatāyā me gaṃgāmāhātmyaṃsaṃyutam | devatārādhanaṃ brūhi yacchrutvā mucyate hyaghāt || 5 ||
ಪಿತೃವಚನದ ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲೇ ಶರಣಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಪೂಜ್ಯರೇ, ನಿಮಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ—ಗಂಗಾಮಾಹಾತ್ಮ್ಯ ಸಹಿತ ದೇವತಾರಾಧನೆಯ ವಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿರಿ; ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರೆ ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
