The Account of Mohinī
Mohinī-upākhyāna
etatprayāce dadata svārthārthaṃ taddhi nānyathā || 60 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that righteous giving (dāna) is not a loss but a direct gain for the giver’s own welfare, aligning personal benefit with dharma.
By urging generous offering, it supports bhakti as practical surrender—giving in a sacred context becomes an act of devotion that purifies intention and strengthens faith.
The verse emphasizes dharma-nīti (ethical discipline) rather than a specific Vedāṅga; it functions as a ritual-ethics instruction often paired with dāna during tīrtha-yātrā and vrata observances.
