Narada (narrative voice within the Narada Purana’s Uttara-Bhaga dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"bhayanaka","secondary_rasa":"karuna","emotional_journey":"A desperate, fear-tinged resolve to secure the husband’s health through severe ritual means, including grave offerings and repeated fasting."}
It presents fasting (upavāsa) performed with reverence as a dharmic means to seek ārogya (health) and well-being for a family member, linking personal discipline with desired auspicious outcomes.
Although the verse is ritual-focused, the emphasis on performing the act “with reverence” (sādaram) points to the inner attitude central to bhakti—sincere, devotional intent accompanying observance.
It highlights ritual procedure and vrata-structure (numbered fasts—ten upavāsas), reflecting practical dharma/kalpa-style organization of observances rather than grammar or astrology.
