FAQs

The verse frames a dharma-oriented warning: certain actions and unions are portrayed as leading to socially censured outcomes, emphasizing the Purāṇa’s concern with ethical order and the karmic consequences associated with conduct.

Bhakti is not stated directly here; the verse belongs to a dharma/ācāra discussion. In Purāṇic teaching, such dharma passages function as a foundation—purifying conduct and intention—upon which stable devotion to Viṣṇu is cultivated.

No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught explicitly in this line; it reflects Smṛti-style social-ethical categorization used in dharma discourse rather than a technical Vedāṅga procedure.
