श्मशाने शौचशेषे च न ग्राह्याः सत्प मृत्तिकाः । इष्टापूर्तं तु कर्त्तव्यं ब्राह्मणेन प्रयत्नतः ॥ ६४ ॥
śmaśāne śaucaśeṣe ca na grāhyāḥ satpa mṛttikāḥ | iṣṭāpūrtaṃ tu karttavyaṃ brāhmaṇena prayatnataḥ || 64 ||
ಶ್ಮಶಾನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಶೌಚಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ನಂತರ ಅಶೌಚ ಉಳಿದಿರುವಾಗ ಶುದ್ಧ ಉಪಯೋಗದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ಆದರೆ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಇಷ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಪೂರ್ಥ—ಯಜ್ಞಾದಿ ಪುಣ್ಯಕರ್ಮಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಲೋಕಹಿತ ದಾನ—ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
