पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
यद् ब्राह्मणमुखात् प्राप्तं प्रतिगृह्लन्ति वै वच: । भूतात्मानो महात्मानस्ते न यान्ति पराभवम्
yad brāhmaṇamukhāt prāptaṁ pratigṛhlanti vai vacaḥ | bhūtātmāno mahātmānas te na yānti parābhavam ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಸರ್ವಭೂತಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏಕಾತ್ಮಭಾವ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರು, ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನ ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ವಚನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಮಾಣವೆಂದು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂಥವರು ಪರಾಭವಕ್ಕೂ ವಿನಾಶಕ್ಕೂ ಒಳಗಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಅಹಂಕಾರ ಅಥವಾ ಆವೇಗವಲ್ಲ, ಧರ್ಮಾಧಾರಿತ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನವನ್ನೇ ಆರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
