Lord Kūrma (Vishnu) instructing in dharma-śāstra style on varṇāśrama standards (context of eligibility and purity in rites).
Primary Rasa: raudra
Secondary Rasa: bibhatsa
Indirectly: it stresses that dharma is not mere outward identity but lived discipline; in Kurma Purana’s broader teaching, inner truthfulness and authentic practice are prerequisites for higher realization of Ātman.
No specific meditation technique is named; the verse emphasizes the yogic prerequisite of niyama—integrity, restraint, and faithful observance of one’s āśrama—without which spiritual practice becomes ‘nirarthaka’ (fruitless).
Not explicitly; yet the Purana’s Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis frames the same dharma as supporting both devotion and yoga—authentic āśrama conduct is presented as universally required for worship and liberation-oriented practice.
