FAQs

Indirectly, it teaches that spiritual results depend on inner quality (guṇa) and purity of intention; tamasic agency blocks dharmic efficacy, implying that realization and merit require sattva-oriented conduct supportive of Self-knowledge.

No specific āsana or dhyāna is taught in this verse; it supports the broader Kurma Purana ethic used in Yoga-śāstra—cultivating sattva (purity, restraint, right company) as a prerequisite for effective sādhanā and for rites like Śrāddha to bear fruit.

This verse is primarily dharma-ritual instruction and does not explicitly mention Śiva–Viṣṇu unity; it aligns with the Purāṇa’s synthesis by emphasizing guṇa-purity and right conduct as universally required, whether one follows Vaiṣṇava or Śaiva modes of worship.
