FAQs

It maps specific ritual operations—sandhi (reconciliation), uccāṭana (expulsion), stambhana (immobilization), śānti (pacification), and karṣaṇa/ākarṣaṇa (attraction)—to particular deity-forms/mandala-variants such as Bhrāmita and Piṅgala, indicating which configuration is used for which outcome.

It exemplifies the Purana’s catalog-like method: concise cross-references that classify multiple applied ritual technologies (protective, coercive, conciliatory) under named forms/arrangements, functioning like a technical index within a wider compendium of dharma, worship, and specialized vidyās.

It frames powerful rites as purpose-bound tools—prioritizing śānti and sandhi as legitimate pacific aims while situating coercive acts (stambhana/uccāṭana) within controlled ritual taxonomy—implying that correct intention, procedure, and restraint govern karmic consequence.
