yadā matiṃ ca kurute dvārakāgamanaṃ prati | tadā narakanirmuktā gāyanti pitaro divi

Scene: At the very thought of going to Dvārakā, the pilgrim’s ancestors are shown released from hell and singing in heaven—two-tier cosmology: a devotee forming resolve below, pitṛs rejoicing above.
In tīrtha-māhātmya, even the sincere intention (saṅkalpa) to go to a supreme kṣetra generates merit benefiting one’s lineage.
Dvārakā-kṣetra, whose pilgrimage is said to uplift even the pitṛs.
