मृकण्ड उवाच । कस्मात्त्वं विप्रशार्दूल वीक्ष्येमं मम दारकम् । सुचिरं विस्मयाविष्टस्ततोऽभूः सस्मिताननः
mṛkaṇḍa uvāca | kasmāttvaṃ vipraśārdūla vīkṣyemaṃ mama dārakam | suciraṃ vismayāviṣṭastato'bhūḥ sasmitānanaḥ
មૃកណ្ឌុ បាននិយាយថា៖ «ឱ វិប្រដ៏ឧត្តម ដូចខ្លាក្នុងចំណោមព្រាហ្មណ៍! ហេតុអ្វីបានជា ពេលអ្នកមើលកូនប្រុសរបស់ខ្ញុំនេះ អ្នកនៅយូរជាប់ក្នុងអស្ចារ្យ ហើយបន្ទាប់មកមានមុខញញឹម?»
