सूत उवाच । चमत्कारपुरे पूर्वं धारानामेति विश्रुता । आसीत्तपस्विनी साध्वी नागरी ब्राह्मणोत्तमा । तस्याः सख्यमरुन्धत्या आसीत्पूर्वं सुमेधया

sūta uvāca | camatkārapure pūrvaṃ dhārānāmeti viśrutā | āsīttapasvinī sādhvī nāgarī brāhmaṇottamā | tasyāḥ sakhyamarundhatyā āsītpūrvaṃ sumedhayā

សូតបាននិយាយថា៖ កាលពីមុន នៅក្រុង ចមត្ការបុរៈ មានស្ត្រីព្រាហ្មណីនាគរីម្នាក់ ជាអ្នកតបស្យា មានសីលធម៌ និងប្រសើរខ្ពង់ខ្ពស់ ល្បីដោយនាម «ធារា»។ កាលពីដើម នាងមានមិត្តភាពជាមួយ អរុន្ធតី ស្ត្រីមានបញ្ញាដ៏ល្អឥតខ្ចោះ។
