ब्राह्मणानां कुले जातो जातिमात्रो यदा भवेत् । अनुपेतः क्रियाहीनो मात्र इत्यभिधीयते

brāhmaṇānāṃ kule jāto jātimātro yadā bhavet | anupetaḥ kriyāhīno mātra ityabhidhīyate

បើមនុស្សម្នាក់កើតក្នុងត្រកូលព្រាហ្មណ៍ តែជាព្រាហ្មណ៍ត្រឹមតែដោយកំណើត មិនបានទទួលពិធីឧបនយន៍ និងខ្វះកិច្ចធម៌ដែលត្រូវអនុវត្ត គេហៅថា «មាត្រ» គឺព្រាហ្មណ៍ត្រឹមកំណើតប៉ុណ្ណោះ។
