When Kumbha was killed in combat by the bull among the monkeys of terrific courage, the earth shook with mountains and the Rakshasas feared even more.।। ityārṣēvālmīkīyēśrīmadrāmāyaṇēādikāvyēyuddhakāṇḍēṣaṭasaptatitamassargaḥ ।।This is the end of the seventy sixth sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma is depicted as world-order: when a major force of adharma is removed, the cosmos responds (earth shakes) and the remaining wrongdoers are seized by fear—an ethical warning about the consequences of unrighteous alignment.
Kumbha’s death marks a turning point; nature reacts and the Rākṣasas’ morale collapses further.
Leadership-strength (netṛtva + vīrya) of Sugrīva as the foremost Vānara warrior in that moment.
