Dasaratha was pleased with the good conduct and character of Rama. Brahmanas as also the inhabitants of the city and the people of the country at large were happy with him.
Dharma produces social harmony: when a leader (or heir) lives by good conduct, trust spreads across classes—king, clergy, city, and countryside.
The text reports the kingdom’s approval of Rama after observing his exemplary behaviour in family and civic responsibilities.
Śīla (good character): Rama’s inner disposition and outward behaviour align, earning broad public confidence.
