द्वादशः सर्गः — Aśvamedha-saṅkalpa
Daśaratha resolves on the Horse Sacrifice

The well-honoured brahmin agreed, saying, "Be it so, let the requisite materials be procured and the sacificial horse, released".
Dharma here is disciplined adherence to rightful means: even a king’s personal longing must be pursued through sanctioned, orderly procedures rather than impulse.
The honored brahmin consents to Daśaratha’s plan for the Aśvamedha and instructs that the materials be assembled and the sacrificial horse released.
Daśaratha’s respect for dharmic counsel and the brahmin’s procedural clarity—both reflect commitment to proper conduct.
