शब्दवेध्य-अनर्थः, ऋषिशापः, दशरथस्य प्राणत्यागः

तदज्ञानान्महत्पापं कृत्वाहं सङ्कुलेन्द्रियः।एकस्त्वचिन्तयं बुध्या कथं नु सुकृतं भवेत्।।।।
tad ajñānān mahat pāpaṃ kṛtvāhaṃ saṅkulendriyaḥ |
ekas tv acintayaṃ buddhyā kathaṃ nu sukṛtaṃ bhavet ||
ដោយសារអវិជ្ជា ខ្ញុំបានប្រព្រឹត្តបាបធំមួយ ធ្វើឲ្យអារម្មណ៍ទាំងឡាយរញ្ជួយវឹកវរ។ ខ្ញុំឯងតែម្នាក់បានគិតពិចារណាក្នុងចិត្តថា «តើអំពើល្អណា—ព្រាយស្ចិត្ត (ការសងបាប) ណា—ដែលអាចធ្វើបាន?»
