O Lakshmana, give away chariots, maid-servants, silk clothes to learned brahmins of Taittiriya branch and well-versed in the Vedas, to agreeable and faithful brahmins attending on Kausalya with their blessings till they are fully satisfied.
Generosity aligned with honor: giving is not mere display but a dharmic act meant to genuinely ‘satisfy’ the worthy through respectful support.
Rāma continues instructing Lakṣmaṇa about the specific forms of gifts to be offered to revered brahmins/sages.
Magnanimity and propriety: Rāma emphasizes abundant yet respectful giving, matching recipients’ dignity.
