Yama-vilāpana
The Lamentation Concerning Yama
samastaṃ neṣyate lokaṃ viṣṇoḥ padamanāmayam | eṣa daṃḍaḥ paṭo hyeṣa tava padbhyāṃ visarjitaḥ || 8 ||
Narada (contextual attribution within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue framework)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"adbhuta","secondary_rasa":"bhakti","emotional_journey":"A proclamation of sweeping salvific destiny (the world led to Vishnu’s flawless abode), sealed by a potent emblem (staff/banner) issuing from the Lord’s feet."}
It presents Viṣṇu’s anāmaya-pada (the flawless, sorrowless state/abode) as the ultimate destination and depicts divine grace as an active force that “leads” beings toward liberation.
By emphasizing being “led” to Viṣṇu’s abode, it implies surrender and dependence on Viṣṇu’s saving power—core to bhakti—rather than liberation as mere self-effort.
No explicit Vedāṅga technique is taught in this verse; it instead uses dhārmic symbolism (daṇḍa/paṭa as signs of authority and protection) to convey theological meaning.
