Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that grave adharma—especially violence against a foremost brāhmaṇa—creates a ripple of defilement (kaluṣa) affecting not only the killer but the surrounding environment and even those present, emphasizing collective responsibility for dharma and purity.
By highlighting the destructive consequences of sin and impurity, the verse implicitly points toward taking refuge in dharma and purification—where sustained devotion to the Lord and righteous conduct are the stabilizing remedies that restore inner and outer order.
It aligns with Vedāṅga-based concerns for ritual and moral purity—supporting the need for prāyaścitta (expiation) and correct dharma-practice so that sacred rites and study are not obstructed by kaluṣa (defilement).
