FAQs

It teaches a precise upacāra (ritual step): consecrating and worshipping a śaṅkha by invoking Soma as the deity of the lunar orb, symbolizing purity, coolness, and the completeness of the sixteen kalās.

Bhakti here is expressed as mantra-centered worship: the devotee honors the sacred vessel (śaṅkha) not merely as an object but as a locus of divine presence invoked through a specific name and form (Soma-maṇḍala, ṣoḍaśa-kalātmā).

It highlights ritual-technical knowledge: correct sequencing of actions (filling the conch, then mantra-pūjā) and precise mantra application—typical of Vedāṅga-aligned procedural instruction used in pūjā and saṃskāra contexts.
