देवदत्तां पतिर्भा्या वेत्ति धर्मस्य शासनात् । स दैवीं मानुषी वाचमनृतां पर्युदस्यति
devadattāṁ patir bhāryāṁ vetti dharmasya śāsanāt | sa daivīṁ mānuṣīṁ vācam anṛtāṁ paryudasyati ||
ភីෂ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «ដោយគោរពតាមបទបញ្ញត្តិនៃធម៌ ប្តីទទួលស្គាល់ថា ស្ត្រីដែលបានមកដល់គាត់ដោយស្របច្បាប់ គឺជាប្រពន្ធរបស់គាត់ ដូចជាភាគចំណែកដែលទេវតាបានចាត់ទុក។ ដូច្នេះ គាត់ទទួលនាងថាជាអំណោយនៃវាសនា ហើយបដិសេធថាជាពាក្យមិនពិត នូវពាក្យចចាមអារាមរបស់មនុស្ស ដែលនិយាយថា អាពាហ៍ពិពាហ៍បែបនេះមិនសមរម្យ»។
