Suta Goswami (narrating a hymn/stuti within the Linga Purana’s Purva-Bhaga context)
It frames the Linga as the prabhava (causal source) of all temporal cycles—day/night, fortnight, month, and season—so Linga-puja becomes worship of Pati who governs time itself, not merely a worldly deity within time.
Shiva is praised as the ground of saṃkhyā (number/measure) and kala-cakra (the wheel of time), indicating Shiva-tattva as the transcendent Pati who both orders creation and remains beyond its changing divisions.
A contemplative stuti-based practice: in Pashupata-oriented meditation, one fixes awareness on Shiva as the source of time and measure, weakening pasha (limiting notions of sequence, count, and change) that bind the pashu (soul).
