It gives an Ayurvedic formulation and procedure: roast ingredients in ghee, grind on stone, and use the resulting preparation in relation to āścyotana (ocular instillation) for treating eye disorders.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves practical applied sciences—here, a concise ophthalmic remedy with specific pharmaceutical steps (roasting, stone-grinding, adjuvants like kāñjika and saindhava).
By framing healthcare as dharmic knowledge transmitted by Agni, the verse supports the puranic ideal that preserving sight and relieving suffering is a meritorious, welfare-oriented (hita) application of sacred learning.
