tato mithaḥ samālocya sarve te munipuṃgavāḥ | procurna jīvanopāyo bhavenmuktvā pitāmaham
Narrator (reporting the collective conclusion of the sages)
Scene: A circle of venerable ṛṣis in forest-ascetic attire confer gravely; their faces show concern as they resolve to approach Pitāmaha to save a fading child.
When ordinary means fail, dharma turns toward higher refuge—seeking the divine source of cosmic order for a righteous remedy.
The verse indicates a movement beyond earthly tīrthas toward Brahmaloka; it does not specify a named terrestrial site.
The ‘prescription’ is to approach Brahmā (Pitāmaha) as the sole remedy, rather than detailing a specific sacrifice or vow.
