किमन्येन वरेणेश देय एष वरो हि नः । अवधेह्यंधकध्वंसिन्वरमन्यं वृणीमहे
kimanyena vareṇeśa deya eṣa varo hi naḥ | avadhehyaṃdhakadhvaṃsinvaramanyaṃ vṛṇīmahe
「他の恩寵など何が要りましょう、恩寵の主よ。これこそ我らの願いのすべて。アンダカを滅ぼした御方よ、どうかお授けください—他の祝福は求めませぬ。」
Kāśī-resident brāhmaṇas/devotees (addressing Śiva)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A group of steadfast devotees addresses Śiva—‘slayer of Andhaka’—with firm resolve, rejecting all other boons; Śiva appears as Pinākin, radiant yet austere, in a Kāśī shrine setting.
The highest boon is not worldly gain but steadfast devotion and the grace connected with Kāśī’s liberating power.
Kāśī, implied as the sacred setting where the devotees seek only the boon aligned with mokṣa.
No ritual is prescribed; the verse is a renunciation of other boons in favor of the single, mokṣa-oriented request.
